Pianist and composer Kevin Field has recently completed a doctorate focusing on harmonic innovation - six years of in depth research which has transformed his approach to musical expression. Already a well-known name to jazz audiences, Kevin has performed concerts in the UK, USA, Australia and NZ and has featured on over 30 albums including five that have achieved award winning status.
For this CJC concert Kevin’s unique approach to improvisation will be showcased in a number of new compositions drawing from his doctoral research. Equally recognised as both performer and composer, Kevin’s compositions have been broadcast in Australia, UK, Ireland, USA, Denmark, Netherlands, Singapore, Japan, Norway, Belgium, Austria, Israel and Czech Republic. Literally the next day Kevin leaves for New York to participate in several recording sessions, new album due out in 2019.

Creative Jazz Club host one of the most influential drummers of his generation Terreon Gully. For this concert at the Kenneth Myers Centre (KMC), Kevin Field will be joining Terreon, Rog and Oli, who have recently recorded for Olivier Holland’s latest project, the double CD album “GJAZZ”
Terreon has mastered a variety of musical genres. He performs, tours and records extensively with a variety of artists. From jazz legends and modern masters to the hottest hip hop icons, Terreon has worked with the best: Kurt Elling, David Sanborn, Nicholas Payton, Kenny Barron, the Stones Project, Sting, Keyon Harrold, Queen Latifa, Yerba Buena, Charlie Hunter, Abbey Lincoln, Marc Cary, Russell Gunn, Lizz Wright, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Maria Schneider Big Band, Jacky Terrasson, Eldar, Me’Shell NdegeOcello, Lauryn Hill, Pharoahe Monch, Mos Def, and Common as well as a host of other artists. In addition to live performances, Terreon is also known for his exceptional work in the studio, producing and recording for films, commercials and CDs; including his first solo project “TANKTIFIED”.
